This is the inside view of the Nikolai Church in downtown Leipzig. It is Leipzig's oldest church, built in 1165, the year Leipzig received its town charter. The ceiling has been newly renovated, and it impresses me each time I step into the church. This church is also the place, where the peaceful revolution started that eventually led to the fall of the wall and the reunification of Germany.
